You might think this aint so easy but in fact it is common now for workers to avoid paying overpriced hotels or rooms in places that have plenty of work.
The cheap accommodation is usually found a way out of town and you either commute this distance or stay local.
Here are the options:
With driving license:
Stay in your car, its not ideal it does get cold and uncomfortable but atleast you have mobility.
Without a driving license:
Camping somewhere quiet.
Find someplace near a source of water, shops and facilitys.
I had a good camp near to work, station and water. But I found the best solution for washing was buying 4-5 spring water bottles for around 20p each soaking a towel in them and using two towels one as a flannel one as drying towel.
You can do some cleaning up in municiple toilets like shaving etc.
Using the river if the town your in has one during the warmer seasons is lush and recommended. I had a nice spot where I could take a good bath in the river and this was somthing nice to look forward to at the end of a hot seaty days work.
You can use to local resources like librarys, cafes, supermarkets etc to hang out. I like to use the cinema and Malls are a great place to just relax and eat well. Dont buy the cooked food go to the supermarket and do it that way.
I found myself spending a lot on food it can be avoided.
If your camped in an outdoor location and its exposed you can use a Quickpitch tent that can be hidden whilst you work.
To charge your phone and gear you can ofcourse use work. Or you can buy a solar panel to charge your gear.
I brought one and it kept me from having to go places to charge. The pub was useful for this.
The solar can charge more if it has really strong sunlight. But in the UK this is a rare thing.
People have been living outdoors for century's but this new hitech world takes some figuring out if your going to make it last.
Ofcourse the major hangup is being exposed to danger's and not being able to wash and clean yourself and your clothes.
These days launderettes are no longer good business as everyone has access to one. But luckily I did find that University's still have them on campus.
You can also wash you gear in the river is there is one, or any body of water.
Normally I wash my stuff at home when I go backafter the first or second week. My stuff can get really rank.
Obviously this is not ideal for working in an office and you would need to solve that one.
Squatting - this is just like living in a house but without furniture ameties or security.
There is plenty of material on Squatting and the rights you have when you take possession of an empty or derilct structure and use it for dwelling in.
You can produce official notices for the police and other interested parties but this can easily cause offense to be taken by anyone who wants you gone.
Doing the place up and finding someplace that isnt attracting others is a good way forward. Being discrete. Dont advertise. No one likes you if youve got rent-for-free in a place that they considered offlimits.
